Best Bike Shops Long Island
Is it for you or someone else in your family that you’d like to buy a bike for?
We polled our local families to find out which Long Island bike shops they recommend for new bicycle purchases. We’re big fans of buying from small businesses close to home and spreading the word about them. We hope you’ll do the same, too.
In comparison to a mass merchant or “cheap” department store, shopping at a local bicycle shop has advantages.
They make sure that your bike is the perfect size and properly adjusted for your needs.
Test rides and follow-up fitting fine-tuning are most likely offered to help you find the best fit possible. Consult with the staff at your neighbourhood retailer.
If they don’t have what you’re searching for at the store, they can assist you get it elsewhere, and they offer a wide choice of bikes to choose from.
For me, safety is one of the most compelling arguments in favour of purchasing a bicycle from a local bike shop. Shop bikes are constructed in-store by trained mechanics. This is not going to be a floor model that has already been assembled and may not be properly assembled. In a bike shop, you can be confident that the bike will work properly and be safe to ride.
Post-sale service and modifications are frequently provided at no charge or at a minimal cost by bicycle shops.
Bicycle shops offer their own warranties and stand behind their products.
Bicycle shop owners and staff have a wealth of knowledge about bikes and can answer any questions you may have about the vehicles.
Here is a list of the Long Island bicycle stores that our local families suggested to us on Facebook. It’s not clear how the bicycle shops are arranged.

Hey, all I am Joe Marino I love to ride bikes and teach others how to ride them. Most of my articles are about which bike is best for others. I am passionate about cycling and it shows, whether I am writing about a $25 bicycle from any random website or a $5000 Santa Cruz.
I have always been the guy who gets calls from friends while at work asking which bike they should buy. I have written about the best city bike for commuting, the best folding bike for use on public transit, and even what to keep in mind when shopping for kids’ bikes.
