With a heavy pair of aluminium clincher wheels, the bike as a whole weighed about 8kg, which is a respectable estimate.
There were a lot of bikes like this around. With a budget carbon frame or a nice aluminium one, you could buy Shimano 105 or Ultegra components for around $1,000.
